Question

Question

Only First Page Saved to Repository

asked on June 10

I built a form with 2 pages.

Page 1: "Page 1"

Page 2: "Default Page"

The 2nd page is only shown via Field Rule below that also hides the 1st page. I cropped out the condition since I didn't think it was important. Just know it is ALWAYS the case that when the form is actually submitted, Rule 77 has been activated.

When saved to the repository, only the 1st page is shown, though its fields have no values shown in the saved copy probably because "Ignore data when hidden" was selected for hiding the page.

We would like both pages shown in the copy that is saved to the repository, with their field values showing. Would this be possible?

My immediate thought to make this possible would be to make a copy of the form without the field rule so both pages are always shown, and save that instead, but I would prefer not to go that route if possible because the field has more than 200+ fields on it and any future changes would have to be made on both forms.

Thanks,

You need to do a combination with your rules:

Instead of trying to get the different rules to apply in the same rule, split it up and add various rules.

What is your save setting marked as:

If you have field rules on the pages, you can also how it show based on the step or stage in your process:

It is set to "Save a form with current process data"

If I add a new Field Rule that shows both pages when the Process Step is my Save to Repository step, will that interfere with my existing Field Rule that hides one page and shows the other if a certain field is not blank? (Keep in mind the field must be filled in for the form to be submitted in the first place, so it will always be not blank eventually)

Yes if the rules conflict that can cause a problem so you will need to probably add a few rules using the When Any of the following...
Change the Page 1 to save data when hidden.

Unfortunately, adding a rule to show the pages when my Process Step is Service Task also automatically hides the pages when I am not at the Service Task step

I have tried to mess around with this a bit but no luck yet

Can you send a screenshot of your conditions and BP.  Yes, if you only show at that task then it will hide everywhere else.  It sounds like the initial show/hides just need some tweaking. Essentially you want to show always and hide based on certain steps and fields.

Hi Angela,

I've made a simple test form with 2 pages, one single-line field on each page. This is what I was testing with. With this field rule, as we mentioned, it will hide both pages when we try to fill out the form because we are not at the save to repository task.

I also tried Rule #1 being show both pages at our Save to Repository step and Rule #2 being show page 2 and hide page 1 when Single Line is filled in, but that does not save both pages to the repository. It only saves Page 2.

Thank you Angela! This has worked with my test form, and I don't see why it shouldn't also work with my production form as well. I will need to test tomorrow to confirm, but am marking this as the answer regardless.
