Including Decimals on Variables In Custom HTML Fields

asked on May 27

I know I can do this using Javascript, so I have a working solution.  But I'm curious if it is possible to add basic formatting to field variables that are included in Custom HTML fields.

For example, if I have a number field which is set to include 2 decimal places, the field itself shows fine, but if I want to include that field value in a Custom HTML field, it drops the decimals for a whole number.

If my field is set to 4 and I set-up my custom HTML like this:

<p>Your rate is currently {/dataset/current_rate}%.</p>

The text that shows up on the form says:

Your rate is currently 4%.

I'd like to make it show with decimals, like this:

Your rate is currently 4.00%.

I can't find any indication or instructions on how to do that, so I'm guessing it isn't currently possible.

I'm not opposed to a Javascript solution, I use tons of them, but this seems like the kind of thing that would be nice to have a no-code option to do.

If this is currently possible, can someone help me understand how - and if this is not currently possible, could that be enhanced?

That would be a nice addition.
