Feature Request - Native Active Directory integration in Laserfiche Forms

Feature Request: Native Active Directory integration in Laserfiche Forms

We would like Laserfiche Forms to support deeper native Active Directory integration.

Current limitation: At this time, Forms users have discussed gaps around AD-based group handling, AD attribute usage, and the need for workarounds such as using data sources or LFDS synchronization instead of direct native Forms capability.

Requested feature:

  • Allow Forms to natively query Active Directory for users and groups.
  • Allow automatic synchronization of AD group membership for task assignment and team membership in Forms.
  • Allow Forms fields to map to common AD attributes such as Display Name, email, department, job titles and similar user profile values.
  • Reduce the need for SQL/linked-server or other workaround-based integrations just to read AD data into Forms.

Business impact:

  • Less manual user and group administration.
  • More accurate task routing when staff move between AD groups.
  • Easier form prefill and identity-based workflows using standard directory data.

Environment:

  • Product: Laserfiche Forms
  • Authentication/directory context: Active Directory / LFDS / AD FS, as applicable.

Hi Katie,

In Forms configuration page, you can specify extra Active Directory domain controller that Forms will retrieves user info directly from AD, is it what you want? If your request is a brand new thing that it's completely independent from how Forms is authenticated(e.g. via LFDS) right now, it could be great changes, I'm not sure if it's doable but I can share the idea within the team.
