Question

How do run a case insensitive select query rule?

asked on April 24

Hi everyone,

As the subject asks. I want to check to see if a value exists in a lookup table before executing further activites. Can the select quey be executed as case-insensitive?

I don't believe so. I usually pass in a lowercase and an uppercase 'where'.

Hopefully my original dataset is standardized upper or lower case (and not camelcase or something else). Just to be sure I will standardize how the the data gets saved to the lookup table e.g. sanitize the column as all caps or all lowercase.

Hi Anthony,

It'll work but not as visually nice as just using sentance case because I'm using the data to populate drop-downs. It would be great if there were upper() or lower() functions I could use for comparissons.
