Question

Field Becomes Read Only if Shown by a Field Rule

asked on April 21

I have an FAQ form that is a series of nested expandable sections (Form with no show/hide logic on email fields)

It has 5 editable fields:
variable for URL passthrough to control internal function
checkbox for internal staff to email link and document to customer
internal use email address field
radio button field (y/n) for public user to request email list of addressing standards
external use email address field

If either email address field is shown by a field rule, the field becomes read only (1).  If I set the field to hide if No is selected, the field shows by default and is writable.  However, if I select No, then switch back to Yes, the field is now read only (2).

The form has 13 field rule blocks, no lookups, and 7 CSS blocks that I also use in other forms that do not have this problem.

Has anyone ran into this before?

Could you show one or two of your field rules?

This is all of my rules on this form.  I highlighted the ones that affect the affected fields.

Hu, I don't see any field rules that toggle the readonly (disabled) state of the field. Do you have any javascript on this form?

Nope.  Also, no lookups.  This is the only CSS that is on it:

.colored-box {
  background-color: lightgreen; /* Set background color */
  padding: 10px; /* Add padding around the text */
  border: 1px solid #ddd; /* Add a border */
}
.bold {font-weight: bold;}
.bold label {
  min-height:2px !important;
  font-size: 16px !important;
}
.normal {
  font-weight: normal;
}
.normal label {
  min-height:2px !important;
  font-size:14px !important;
}
.normal section-title {
  min-height:2px !important;
}
.section-title {
    padding: 5px 5px 0 !important;
    border-bottom-style: none !important;
    border-bottom-width: 0px !important;
}
.bold .q-help,
.bold .cf-helptext,
.bold .description {
  font-weight: normal !important;
}

I was able to do some further testing I hadn't thought to do before and have isolated the issue to the single form within my forms process (and any clone of it).  I am going to chalk this up to corruption within that single form.
