Question

Bluelake Laserfiche Bulk Import

asked on April 14

Hi,

I have a sizeable amount of PDF files with meta-data stored in CSV format that needs to be uploaded into Laserfiche.

Does anyone have experience with the Bluelake Laserfiche Bulk Import application? Does it work well with large file sizes and large volume of files to upload? Any other suggestions of how to easily import this into Laserfiche?

Thank you

James

It would help to provide a little more detail about how large your files are, how many files you have to process, and your expected turn around time to process everything.

Hi,

I have about 40 folders with some folders consisting of 500 - 1000 files. Each file varies in size from 10MB to 800MB. Turn-around time is not an issue, I am hoping to do this in-house and learn since there is potentially more files to come.

Thanks

I'm unfamiliar with Bluelake import, but you can test Laserfiche Import Agent pretty quickly. If you want to speed up performance, you can install it on a couple of machines and split the 40 folders evenly between them.

Is the Laserfiche Import Agent able to read in the meta-data from the CSV file and associate it with the data file? From what I have read, that does not seem to be possible.

Oh sorry, totally missed that part of your question. It cannot use CSV's directly, it uses XML format to define templates/fields. https://doc.laserfiche.com/laserfiche/en-us/content/capture-lfia-profiles.htm?Highlight=importengine#SettingsthatApplytoAllProfiles

Or you could use workflow to post-process the documents using the CSV
