Users in Child OUs not getting licensed even though Parent OU is in Identity Provider

asked on March 25

Hoping someone out there has some insight on this. We've been having issues with our LFDS setup recently, and our vendor is helping us resolve them.

One thing we found is that users in child OUs are not receiving licenses, even though the parent OU is listed in the identity provider with a license assigned to the group. Has it always been this way?

Our current set up is: an "All_Principals" OU that has nested OUs for 26 campuses. so "All_Principals" has "001_Campus, 002_Campus..." with each of those having users in them (jdoe belongs to 001, pdoe to 002, etc.)

We are on Version 12 if that helps.

Which version of 12 is your LFDS?  I see you are using _ in your AD group names and if you are using the LFDS Fall 2025 release, there is a hot fix available which fixes sync issues for AD groups with 'special characters'.  Work with your solution provider to get the hotfix from Laserfiche.  We didn't have child OUs but all of our AD groups have _ in them and syncing stopped when we upgraded to that version and needed a hot fix.
