I'm working in Laserfiche Cloud >> Business Process >> Forms

Within the Toolbox are Fields and Variables. Typically, Variables populate once I add Fields and designate Variable names. The Variables can then be edited/renamed by selecting the { } icon and navigating to Variable Management.

The problem is that my Form has many more Variables I've designated than are showing up or populating within the Variable section of the Toolbox and within Variable Management. What has caused my Variables to disappear?

Are your variables in a table or collection? Mind showing a screenshot?

As far as I know, all variables I've generated have been through defining them within the Form > selecting the element (Field) > Details > Basic > Variable.

Here's the list of variables shown in the Toolbox:

And here's an example of an element within the Form with a variable that doesn't appear on the list of variables.

If the dropdown field is within a Table or Collection, it will not show under the Simple list. You have to remove and re-add the table or collection from the Complex list.

@████████is this a bug? Having to remove a table or collection from a form would also remove all the rules.

There isn’t a clean way to see all of the fields associated with a table/collection from the form designer. It is visible from the variables page.

if you want to add back a field you removed from a table or collection there’s an option on the table/collection to do so. There’s an open bug for that right now because the variable list goes off screen when you click the add back button

I don’t think there is a bug for the original post though and Angela’s work around isn’t necessary in all cases

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Discovered my "missing" variables were nested within the two Collections I have on the form. From the Variable management tab, I could see/edit them when I clicked on the Collection.

From the toolbox though, it only shows the Collections. I can't see the "nested" variables from here. Maybe a cool update to the software down the road?

I think its a worthwhile enhancement so you could also see collection fields that have been removed from the collection there as well. This would be in conjunction with the feature I mentioned earlier where its visible from the table/collection's field settings
