Question

LF12 forms user is not a read/write named user

asked two days ago Show version history

When logging in to self hosted Forms in LF12, I am getting "Anthony is not a read/write named user".

I have a test server in AWS with LF12 installed on it. It has worked in the past.

But whenever I restart it about once a month and run testing, etc I have licensing issues. And none of the licensing issues are a simple fix.

I have no issues logging in to the repository or anywhere else on this server.

Are there any steps I can take to refresh the licenses? Or make this user a read/write user?

I think this is my problem - the user licenses reset and I have none left

New Edit: I got here:

The Laserfiche Content Repository service has successfully reloaded license data. New license data:
InstalledApplication Guid=7722908d-f8ec-4244-adf2-3525fcbc9f86
Product ID=74
Repository Limit=1000
Page Limit=none
Concurrent Users: full=0, retrieval=0
Named Users: full=5, retrieval=0, restricted=0
Repository Named Users: full=0, retrieval=0, restricted=0
Public Portal: users=0, CPU limit=0

The error is correct given the license info logged in your second screenshot. Did the server license have repository named users before?

How is this server licensed? Is it a Rio/Subscription setup with LFDS? We'll probably need a support case to look at the startup sequence in the event logs

My only guess is for some reason the license gets out of sync when the server is shut down for a long period of time.

It an SP 5 user Rio with LFDS.

I resolved it by removing all of the applications in LFDS. And also removing the users except admin. Then re-adding the applications one by one and adding the licx files. I then added users in LFDS and then in the Admin Console added them as Laserfiche directory users.

Shutting down the server is not a normal operation so it might not be worth the troubleshooting, but I wonder why something would get out of sync on restart...and how I could get up and running quicker next time.

It sounds like the LF Server has a stale license but gets an updated one from LFDS when LFDS pushes updated ones out. When LFS restarts, it loads the local one.

I would download its license from LFDS and replace the existing one in the install folder, then restart the service.
