Workflow Toolbox Activities Version

asked one day ago

Hello All,

Wondering if anyone can inform me of the latest Toolbox Activities version Laserfiche has available. Our current server has Workflow Designer 11 but our toolbox activities are running with version 8.3. I cant seem to find any answers to this via LF answers so was hoping someone would have some insight. Seems these are two separate things that do not automatically get updated when we update designer which had been my assumption in the beginning. I just want to make sure we aren't missing out on any updated activities that could come in handy. Thanks!

That's not the case. .Net libraries have 2 kinds of versions: file version and assembly version. The assembly version is the initial "architecture" version and only changes when there are major architectural changes that would make it significantly different in a way that would cause existing applications to break. The file version is what changes every time the software is built and released.

What you are seeing in this screenshot is the "assembly version". Workflow activities have not had breaking changes since version 8.3, therefore that has not changed.

The About dialog lists both versions in a slightly less confusing way:

Are you seeing some issue that made you look at the versions?

Thank you for the explanation! This makes complete sense. We purchased some additional pdf activities and had to download then to our server and when adding them to the toolbox I noticed these version numbers and was curious. Appreciate the help and insight.

Right click anywhere in the toolbox within workflow designer hit Toolbox > Add/Remove Activities. See below!
