Feature Request - Teams Integration Enhancements

asked one day ago

Hi All,

Is there anything in the pipeline to enhance the current integration with Microsoft teams?

A couple of key enhancements I see would be a huge benefit might be:-

  • The ability to capture and archive the chat content from either individual chats or meeting chat.
  • The ability to automatically save the meeting recording into Laserfiche.

Are either of these on the radar, or even possible? If anyone else has any other ideas feel free to chime in.

Cheers!

Chris

We aren't actively researching anything for Teams at the moment, but I'd love to hear your use-cases.  We are always interested in how our customers integrate Laserfiche into their organizations and broader application ecosystem - or how they'd like to!

Hi Andrew,

Sure thing. I mean it's hopefully fairly obvious, but to elaborate:-

Chat - Many conversations and decisions now happen over IM, particularly within MS teams, even between organisations. Currently the only way to capture that activity as a record is to copy and paste the chat content into a word document, and then manually save that to Laserfiche. Some kind of Laserfiche button within teams to say archive the last xx days chat history to Laserfiche would be amazing. This would then allow it to be stored against a client record, and searchable within Laserfiche.

Video - Laserfiche cloud offers fantastic transcription services when it comes to video files, however the current method of getting a teams meeting recording into LF cloud is fairly cumbersome to say the least. First you'll need to somehow download the teams meeting recording to your desktop, then manually upload this into Laserfiche cloud. Again it would be great to have a Laserfiche option at the end of the meeting, where the meeting recording could be saved into Laserfiche via a single click, and metadata assigned accordingly. This video can then be transcribed and even interrogated by Laserfiche AI for content and decision actions etc.

Not sure how or if any of these options are even possible, but would be a great addition to the product suite. Most organisations in the EU live within the MS suite.

Cheers!
