Question

Hide a field from form submitter, show field later in workflow

asked on January 29 Show version history

Apologies if this has been asked before, but I'm having a hard time finding answers to my specific use-case.

We want to have a workflow for a recommendation for hire form that should be as follows:

Form Submitted by Hiring Manager (recommended for hire name, date, position, etc.) > Department Director views and approves request > HR Specialist should then receive the form and enter Salary/Paygrade information > HR Manager approves

Is it possible to hide or mark the Salary and Paygrade fields as read-only to the form submitter and the Department director then show and allow editing for the HR Specialist and finally keep the updated Salary and Paygrade fields visible but read-only for the HR Manager? If this has to be done via multiple forms, I'm fine with that solution. I just need to know if this kind of workflow is possible and how it can be done? I'm new to LF Forms, using Process Automation/Business Processes on LF Cloud.

Thanks in advance.

You can do this with Field Rules.  If you disable the field at a certain process step or process stage it will make the field read only.

My Field Rules page looks a bit different. I only have the option to Show or Hide. Is it possible I'm looking in the wrong place?

Looks like you are using the Classic Designer.  You will want to use the default Form Designer.
