How to use a Label vs Value from Drop Down field variable

asked on January 22 Show version history

I have a form that I created. I use a drop down field with values. They select the Company Name it it populates the address in another box. However when we go to store the form in Laserfiche we would like to store the Company name not address.

Is there a way to use the Label vs the Value from a drop down box, or a better way to do what I would like to do? I tried to research and I am not finding a good work around.

I should mention the form is created using the modern designer - not classic and we are on forms 11.0.2311.50564

Are you referring to using the Label as a value for metadata when stored in the repository?  If the value of the drop-down field has to be different from the label to choose, you could use a separate field that is hidden and utilize the Advanced option and create and IF rule to convert the value back to the label and store that field as metadata.

Ex of single line field calculation : =IF(Drop_down_1="A","Choice 1","")

Angela -

Thank you - Yes currently i have it as Industry Name as the "label" and then the address as the value.

I will see if I can get the IF statement going like you proposed! When we store it in laserfiche they would like the Industry Name - not the address as the Document Name.
