Utilizing Smart Chat to uncover trends and patterns in unstructured data

The recent innovation in working with unstructured data is something I want to help more small businesses make use of. Primarily this sums up exactly what I want to accomplish with Smart Chat.

In a basic test when selecting a Customers folder and asking even the most basic questions, it always just says "I'm Sorry". I don't understand how I am going to uncover trends and patterns across multiple unstructured documents when I can't get started with the basics.

When you select a folder for the first time you should see a progress bar for those documents in the folder.  Once the documents are processed they are available to ask questions against.  For example, it should look something like the following:

 

 

Feels like you may be running into something more subtle.  Smart Chat is constantly being improved and adding new capabilities, the ability to analyze and gain insights for documents will be greatly enhanced with additional releases and capabilities.  If you feel Smart Chat is not able to query any information from the documents I would recommend opening a Support Ticket to investigate further.

This is very odd behavior.  Smart Chat will only use the documents that you have specifically selected in the Web Client.  Can you confirm you had you the folders or documents you wanted to ask the questions against selected.  This user experience was slightly updated a little while ago, but previously it was not required to select the documents you wanted to use.

I selected a folder. As of December you can select folders now, rather than just a single file. We want to gain insights on data across multiple documents, rather than just one at a time.

Wow, I was not "checking the checkbox" I was just selecting the folder. That did the trick! Now I can ask it about my documents across multiple documents.
