1️⃣New Last Month: Automatically assign tags with Laserfiche AI 

Now, you can use AI to automatically apply informational and security tags to documents, expanding AI-powered classification capabilities in Laserfiche. 

Tags offer a flexible way to classify and manage your content, complementing templates as a classification tool in various ways:   

  • Unlike templates, tags can be easily added, removed, or modified without interfering with other metadata fields, making them better suited for classifying documents with labels that change over time, such as “Needs Review” or “Unpaid”  

  • Unlike templates, more than one tag can be applied to the same document. For example, you might want to assign bills with a tag for payment status (Paid, Due Soon, etc.); a tag for type of expense (Office Rent, Software Subscription, etc.), and a tag for document type (Receipt, Invoice, etc.).  

  • Unlike templates, tags can be used to control access to content. By applying security tags to documents that contain classified or sensitive information, you can ensure they remain protected regardless of where they are stored in the repository. A document with a security tag is only visible to users who have been granted access to that specific tag.   

With auto-assigned tags, Smart Fields can identify when a document meets certain criteria defined in the tag description, and instantly apply the right tag during ingest or on demand.

2️⃣New This Month: Smart Chat response streaming 

Smart Chat now streams responses as they’re generated, delivering information to the user as a continuous update. Previously, responses appeared only after they were fully complete, creating a pause before the user saw any output. With streaming, users can observe Smart Chat processing their request in real time, resulting in a more interactive and engaging chat experience.
