Robotic Process Automation Forms Web Client Laserfiche AI

Hello,

I have just started using Smart Fields (self-hosted) and am looking for a way to better read checkboxes on forms. We have PDFs that have checkboxes filled out, but AI is not accurate at reading PDF checkboxes. Has anyone had any success in converting PDFs to markdown files or AI accurately reading the checkboxes?

If the PDF uses an X or to indicate a checked box, they sometimes OCR nicely and Smart Fields is able to understand the context and extract the value. Full support for Optical Mark recognition (OMR) is a feature request that unfortunately is not natively available in Laserfiche.

If the PDFs are true PDF forms that have checkbox fields, and the PDFs are all from the same master template, you can extract the value of the field using a workflow with the "Retrieve PDF Form Content" activity.
