Question

Delay after adding permissions

asked on January 6

I have some folders on Laserfiche where access is granted through AD group membership.

However, when adding users to said AD groups, they are not able to see the folder or contents until around 2-3 hours after being added to the group.

When viewing the effective access rights, I do see that the user does have access.

Even after the user logs out and back in they are unable to see the folders/documents until around 2/3 hours after being added.

is there a way to manually sync AD?

Having to log out and back in is expected, as the group membership is captured at login time. But I don't think there is anywhere in Laserfiche that caches that information - we already have to communicate with the directory server in order to validate credentials, so there isn't any reason to cache the group membership. Is it possible that the directory server that the system is using is slow to update? I know some solutions where users are connecting from outside the firewall may involve copies of directory servers, and it seems possible that this is where the slow refresh is.

But to Miruna's point, can you describe in as much detail as you can what the user's login flow is?
