I have a situation where I would like for a dynamic field to automatically fill with a value (crop year) so I created a view of the appropriate table that returns only the crop year marked as the default.  Since this works in Forms, I thought it would also work in metadata.  It does not.  There is only one value (2025 right now), but the metadata field starts with no value and the user has to select 2025 from the dropdown (it is the only option in the dropdown list besides blank).  Is this the intended behavior?  I used to use a list field for this with a default value, but it would be much easier to use and maintain a SQL table, as I could schedule workflows to update the table, creating a new crop year, making the new one the default,  deactivating old crop years, etc.

For reference, we are using Laserfiche 12, we are self-hosted, and this behavior is the same in the Windows Client as well as the Web Client.
