style radio button in modern designer

I'm looking to change the look of a radio button field when it is checked.

I want the text to be white when the choice is selected.  I don't care which choice, just want the text to be white so that it is legible. 

 

I've got this:

.radio input:checked + label {
    background: maroon;
   color: white !important;
    }

as my css, but the font color doesn't change.

 

Works in classic designer

Try this:

.radio input:checked + .option-label span {
  color: white; 
  background: maroon;
}
