Import Agent 12 License File Not Valid

I am trying to update Import Agent from version 11 to 12. After upgrading Import Agent the service would not start and in the IAService.log file there is the following error message:

2025-11-15 11:34:57.4541|ERROR|5|Laserfiche.ImportAgent.Service.IAServiceImpl||There was an error reading the license file. This program will exit. (The license file is not valid for this version of Import Agent. This program will exit.)|

Looking in LFDS it shows that the Maximum version of Import Agent is 11. So I tried to renew the LFDS Primary License file and received the error message:

How can I resolve this? Import Agent is critical to our operations.

Hi Blake,

You'll first have to manually deactivate your LFDS master license. Once done, you should then be able to renew.

If it still won't register IA 12 to LFDS, delete the registration in LFDS that has a max version of 11, renew your LFDS master license in Settings again (just to be sure), then try re-adding the new IA 12 registration either through the installer itself or manually.

I had this issue with Import Agent too, but not the one with the LFDS license.  Had to renew the primary license in LFDS before I could issue the version 12 license for Import Agent, but everything is working now.

Have you purchased the license for version 12?

It seems the activation key has been activated, you may need to deactivate it first. 

 

If it still does not work, please contact support.
