Question

LF Cloud and Quick Fields Scanning

asked on October 20 Show version history

Hi,

Does anyone know how to get past the user account name or password is incorrect [9010] error when starting QF Scanning?

I am trying to scan from a scanner to the Laserfiche Cloud repository.

It doesn't ask me to login. We are using SSO for LF Cloud.

I can scan but once I click Store All Documents, that's when it gives me the error.

The only documentation that talks about logging in is this. Do you have to run Quick Fields if you're just going to use Quick Fields Scanning? They're two different applications.

Yes, the expiration time of SAML token you used for logging is 8h.

If you want a stable, non-expiring connection to the Laserfiche Cloud repository, please try to log in using your account/password, here is a related question and the answer could be followed: How to connect Quick Fields to LF Cloud - Laserfiche Answers

Hello,

First, it's important to clarify that Quick Fields Scanning doesn't prompt a login window asking you to configure your login information. It retrieves the login information from the document class you selected.

From your description, it seems you opened Quick Fields Scanning, scanned from a scanner, and then saved the scan to an LF cloud repository. Therefore, it should have asked you to select a published document class during creation. The specific location can be found in the screenshot below.

This document class can be created in Quick Fields. It will ask you to configure where you want to store the document. Once you create the document class and upload it to the Quick Fields Server, it will be available for selection in Quick Fields Scanning.

Perhaps you selected a document class with incorrect login configuration when creating the QF Scanning session, which resulted in an inability to connect to the corresponding repository and an error when saving.

Quick Fields Scanning doesn't allow you to modify the document class, it just allows you to select a different document class.

Thus you need to go to Quick Fields to modify or recreate a new document class, and then publish it, so that you can use the document class containing the correct login information in Quick Fields Scanning.

Thank you for getting back to me. I see. So we currently have SSO setup. When I created the session I went this route:

I entered our account ID and logged in. It seems the SAML token expires in a day. Are you saying that I have to validate my account everyday for QF Scanning to work for other users? What is the correct way to not have this happen? Do I create a "service account" with full access license (Laserfiche Authentication) and use that account to publish sessions for QFS to use? There's not great documentation on this so I would like clarification.

Thanks!! It's kind of hard to have to search documentation links and then come here and search in the Answers forum. I would kindly suggest to explain that in the actual link for future SSO users to not run into this issue.
