Question

SDK 10.2 Compatibility with Laserfiche Repository 12

asked on September 30

I have a .NET application built with .NET Framework 4.7.2 that currently interacts with a Laserfiche Repository 10.2 using the Laserfiche SDK 10.2. We are planning to migrate from Laserfiche Repository 10.2 to Laserfiche Repository 12.

Question

Is the Laserfiche SDK 10.2 that we're currently using compatible with Laserfiche Repository 12?

Or will we need to:

  • Upgrade to a newer SDK version (such as SDK 10.4)?
  • Migrate to a different library/API to access the Repository 12?

Additional Context

We want to understand if we can maintain our current SDK implementation during the repository migration, or if code changes will be necessary to ensure compatibility with the new repository version.

Any guidance or documentation regarding backward compatibility between SDK versions and Repository 12 would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your assistance!

The Laserfiche Server is backwards compatible with older client applications. We would still recommend you upgrade your application to SDK 10.4 for better performance and security.

Is there an SDK download for Laserfiche 12, or is Laserfiche SDK 10.2 the most recent SDK?

The most recent Laserfiche SDK for .Net Framework is 10.4. There is also a .Net Core Laserfiche API with a more limited feature set. See developer.laserfiche.com
