Question

error occurred during the pre-login handshake

asked on September 24

We are attempting to connect to the local SQL Server from the cloud-based Laserfiche server, but we are encountering the following error message:

A connection was successfully established with the server,
but then an error occurred during the pre-login handshake.
(provider: TCP Provider, error: 35 - An internal exception was caught)

Hi Young!

This is likely due to the certificate handshake between Laserfiche Cloud and your server failing.  Did you upload a custom certificate in the data source configuration?  If not, you'll want to try that and try validating again.

You should NOT need to upload the root certificate. The accepted certificate formats are PEM, DER, and CER.

The certificate needs to be in base64 encoded format. The certificate should NOT include any private key information.

Thank you for your prompt response. As I am not familiar with the certificate, I will consult with the expert in our team and then proceed with the process.

Hi,

Is it a SQL cert or a machine cert?
