Question

Why does a user need a full user license to access Reports in Forms?

asked on September 18

I know this topic has been brought up in the past, but it has really started hitting home lately. Why does a user need a full user license to access Reports in Forms?

Reports are a read-only view, so the user would not be making any changes to the data. Reports are also not an administrative item. We have auditors that need to be able to view reports.

The logic of requiring a user to have a full user license to have access to the Reports section of Forms seems to not follow the same practice seen in other places in the Laserfiche ecosystem. For example, I can perform searches and use the Generate Reports option in the repository as a read-only user.

Could Laserfiche please reconsider what license is required to access the Forms reports?

I have asked this question for years, I inquired about the "Process User" license as mentioned in this post only to find out it wasn't a license.  The features in Jared's post in that thread were things I'm still looking forward to seeing soon.  There are so many things I keep requesting for forms, but that's for another thread.

I remember that post. I created the initial post if I remember correctly. They did release the "Process User" license type, but I think it didn't last long and is no longer available.

When I first started with Laserfiche, I was assigned to look into the security access. I had found the "Process User" in the guides and asked CDI about it. I was told that is no longer available.

We use up a lot of full licenses for those that are just running reports. We would really like this to change.
