New in Cloud: Direct Database Connections
Users can now directly connect Laserfiche Cloud with external databases, allowing data that resides outside of Laserfiche to be used in real time in custom forms, business processes, and automations.
This powerful new integration tool allows you to work with external data within the Laserfiche platform without using Remote Agent or syncing data into Lookup Tables, providing seamless access to the most up-to-date information from key external data sources without the need for manual data transfers or duplication.
With this feature, you unlock new use cases, such as:
- Populating fields in a Laserfiche Form with real-time data from an external data source using custom SQL queries
- Directly updating an external database using Laserfiche process automation triggered workflows
- And more - All without any additional software or configurations.
For example, organizations can connect Laserfiche directly to their external CRM so that when a customer enters a single piece of information—such as their Account ID—into a form, related details like email address and shipping information are automatically pulled in to populate other fields in the form.
