Question

Is it necessary to keep sample pages stored in Quick Fields session files?

asked on August 29

I have a few Quick Fields session files with multiple document classes. Each document class has a sample page, and the session files are quite large at about 16mb up to 52mb. Due to their size, the session files take a long time to open, and even longer to save when changes are made.

I'm guessing that the file sizes are large due to the sample pages, so I was wondering if it's necessary to keep the sample pages after the document classes have been defined?

If it is necessary, is there some other way to reduce the size of the session files so they save more quickly?

I have tried deleting the sample pages, but the Delete option is not available.

It is not. They're only used for process configuration.

Ok, so how do I delete them?

@████████ - how can I delete the sample pages if the Delete option is disabled? Please refer to previously uploaded screenshot. It appears to me that you must have at least one sample page for each doc class.

Hi Mike,

Could you upload another sample image with smaller size then delete the large one?

If your issue remains, please file a support ticket so we can take a look at your session file and see what we can do to reduce the size.

Hi Shengyao,

I was able to replace all of my sample pages with a .png file I created that is very small. It reduced the size of my .qfx from 52mb to 12mb. That will meet my needs since I was able to significantly reduce the size of the file, but I would think I should be able to remove all sample pages if they are not necessary after creating the doc class and setting up the processes, don't you think?
