Enhancement Request: Sorting dropdown by label or value

It would be nice to have an option on the dropdowns where the form will auto sort by the label and/or value name. 

 

Our use case is we have a survey form that currently has over 100 form names. This list grows whenever we take a new form live. This means we have to add the new form to the list and then move it up the list until it's in the correct alpha position. It gets a bit annoying when the new form needs to be near the top of the list.

Instead of updating the field options, would it be easier to use data source and insert form name into db table? Then you could use lookup rule to fill the dropdown field and you can configure sort option on the rule.

Part of the reason that would not work in our case is we have an "Other..." option that is best as the last option. When you sort a lookup it would of course not put "Other..." as the last option.

Genny, you are correct, but if you used a data source to populate the field and then checked the "Append choices to lookup results" and entered "Other..." it should put it at the end of your choices.

I had forgotten about seeing that option. I would still like an auto-sort feature. Good for smaller lists that get updated from time to time that it would be inconvenient to make a bunch of tables and look ups for.
