Excel: add a link in a cell that opens in desktop

asked on July 17

Is there a way to create a link to a document in an Excel spreadsheet that opens in the desktop version of LF?
We know we can copy/paste the URL for a document into Excel.
i can't seem to find where to do that

You can manually generate an LFE file. Open an existing valid one in notepad and you can see that it is XML.

Not the most elegant solution but we've had users create a Laserfiche shortcut (.lfe), save it to a network drive and hyperlink to that shortcut file in Excel. In my testing it works but with a security warning and Excel can hang for while.
