Question

can i scan a multiple documents as one file with barcode separator sheet between each document and OCR every 3rd page after barcode sheet

asked one day ago Show version history

I have a lot of small documents to scan, and do not see a way to create file names from the part# and lot# on the label on page 3.  Our labels are not all the same format.  I need to know if what I think would be a good work around will work.  The documents are given to me in a stack by date with barcode separator page between each document.  Using Quick Fields, I am wondering if I can scan the documents from each date as one document and OCR each 3rd page after the barcode sheet.  The 3rd page is the label page, if that page is OCR'd we would be able to seach Laserrfiche for the part# or lot#, correct?  I want to keep the documents by date as one file.  Each file name will be the person's Last Name, First Initial - Date, this I know how to do.

I have attached 3 documents for 26 Feb 2025  done by Pena, S.

(I took your document down because the footer said "proprietary and confidential" and this is a public site.)

You can. Quick Fields can use the barcode on the cover sheet to break a batch of pages into individual documents. You can OCR all pages, but if you only want to OCR every 3rd one, you can do that too. See the help file for more info on how to set up a page range to skip pages.
