Question

Multiple WebLink IIS Applications Save Changes

asked on June 27

I am running Weblink Designer 11.0.2411.10.  I followed the instructions Changing the Default Virtual Directory "To create a second virtual directory" and "To register the new site or directory in WebLink".  I was successfully able to get a new WebLink up and running.  The Welcome Page: Custom Links the changes are not being saved.  For example, I add an external URL.  The new entry shows as the last row in the grid.  When I click save I receive a message stating "Settings Saved".  The screen flashes to reload and the entry is not in the grid.

Check the permissions on the new directory path. I ran into the same issue when we added multiple WebLink instances, and we resolved it by giving the IIS User (or whatever service account yours is using) permissions on the new folders.

Easiest way is probably to check the original directory and replicate those permissions, but I'd suspect it's failing because it can't write to those files/folders yet.

Hi Jason,

I checked on the permissions and discovered that 2 of the group/user entries on the original WebFiles folder did not match the copy I had made. Things are now working after updating the permissions, restarting the IIS Default Site and recycling the App Pool for WebLink.

Kind regards,

Mark
