Question

User-defined folder notifications

asked on June 27

Is it possible for a Laserfiche Cloud user to 'Subscribe' to a folder or be emailed/alerted/notified when documents are added to a specific folder within a repository? I am hoping there is a non-workflow option similar to what is available for on-prem but everything I have searched seems to indicate that its not an option for Cloud - albeit, those posts are rather old.

Thanks!

The repository itself doesn't have any kind of user-facing notification process, but this is essentially what is provided to workflow. Do you have something specific in mind with "similar to what is available for on-prem"? I can't think of anything exclusively available for self-hosted solutions that would help.

Thanks for confirming!

I was led to believe that the self-hosted version allows users to right-click a given folder and 'Subscribe' to a folder they are interested in monitoring. However, the source of this information is of dubious provenance...

Our cloud-hosted repository is has many users across a broad-spectrum of operational areas - licensing, enforcement, legal, finance etc. For context, our agency licenses business/individuals and enforces regulations. Some users are interested in activity within a certain folder. Other users are interested in the activity within different folders. Having to build a custom workflow for each of these unique circumstances is untenable. We are looking for a solution that would allow a user to define and manage which folders/files they are interested in receiving notifications for. Something akin to a user 'Starring' a folder (something they manage on their own) and when a new document is added to that folder, they receive an email.
