SQL Local Database for Laserfiche Cloud

posted on June 26

Is it possible to import a database into Laserfiche Cloud with the Laserfiche Remote Worker Agent?

And also, how about the Laserfiche Remote Worker Agent? if it's not running through the local machine, will it work?

Any insights will help, thanks!

Hi Rafael,

Not exactly; the remote agent is a utility that you can install in your network to securely connect on-premises resources (such as databases, file shares, or scripts) and then use with your Laserfiche Cloud Process Automation workflows.

Here is a great overview diagram on it, which I stole from a fantastic Laserfiche training session. 👍😁

About getting data in Laserfiche cloud, data can be imported into the Laserfiche cloud Data Management table in a few different ways:

Note: Always check those pesky Laserfiche Cloud Service limits (https://doc.laserfiche.com/laserfiche/en-us/Content/service/Service-Limits.htm)

1. Import data manually - Build an Excel / CSV file and import it manually: In Laserfiche Cloud, navigate to >Process Automation > Data Management > Lookup Tables

2. Use Workflow - There are workflow activities available to import Excel or CSV files and update or replace Data Management Tables.

Here is the section specific to Look up table limits:  https://doc.laserfiche.com/laserfiche/en-us/Content/service/Service-Limits.htm#Lookuptablelimits ) that will apply here ( Ex, the time delay between updating the same table using the Replace Lookup Table activity in Workflow is: 60 minutes)

3. There is an app for that!  -Use the LookupTables command line utility

https://developer.laserfiche.com/docs/guides/guide-lookup-tables-cli/

4. Programmatically - Use the OData API - https://developer.laserfiche.com/docs/api/odata-api-reference/

Good luck!
