Coded & Apple Email Format Causing Large Strings of Code

asked two days ago

Current ingestion of emails from Outlook directly through Import Agent to our Repository have included a large quantify of emails that either seem to have imbedded code (invisible on original Outlook email, but showing strings of code in Laserfiche) and Apple Mail software that creates jumbled text making the emails ingested nearly unreadable.

This is causing a difficulty in reading which in turn is a hassle for our users to route out the actual text. Or produces several scrolls worth of jumbled code to take up unnecessary space.

Are there any known solutions on how to program Import Agent to either clear these out, or make them invisible?

Hi Sarah,

Do you mean that the long encoded text should not be included in the imported file? The long encoded text is the encoded data of attachements. I think you can use Email Archive to import emails with these settings: Retrieve text checked, Save attachments as Separate documents and Ignore inline attachments unchecked.
