How are people using the Laserfiche Mobile app?

I would like to know how people are using the mobile app?  What are the advantages/Disadvantages Are there lots of issues that will make this mobile app frustrating? I have lots of Directors that I would like to make things easier for the them.

PS I'm wanting to using it on Selfhosted forms projects.

It was announced at Empower that they'll be releasing a version of the Mobile app that is only for Forms, with more streamlined functionality. We're holding out for that version (I don't remember what timeline they had in mind, but it's upcoming).

Yeah. Unless you specifically need the offline form submission feature of the current Laserfiche App, we'd recommend using Forms in a mobile browser. It has a device responsive layout and will show a mobile-optimized view by default.

Hi Carlos,

 

We've had mixed results with the mobile app. It seems to function much better/faster when using it with LF cloud, even with a sizeable bandwidth setup on self hosted systems. 

 

There are little things in the app that are annoying which you'll encounter. For example in a form, if you have a drop down list field type, linked to a database it becomes a scroll wheel in the app, which for large datasets can be annoying as you're scrolling forever. You'll need to use a single line field with a type ahead DB lookup setup in that scenario.

 

Overall the app is good, but fairly basic. For most of our mobile app users, they just use the web client in a browser on the mobile device as it's much more feature rich.
