Many excel files not opening in Cloud, We're sorry message from Microsoft

posted on May 2

One of our customers suddenly is getting a We're sorry message from Microsoft shown below when trying to view/edit Excel documents in the Laserfiche Cloud repository.

In order to access the documents again, they must download them to their computer and re-upload them.

What could be causing this to happen? Something seems to be wrong with the office services on Microsoft's side as the files are in perfect condition.

We gave feedback to Microsoft as to what is happening using the link provided.

Can you please file a support case for this, if you haven't already, so we can investigate?

It seems that they were using a local excel app to create .xls files and these are what get corrupted because it is an over 20 year old file format.

Could you still open a support case and send us a sample doc, please? If at all possible, one without sensitive data so we can share it with Microsoft if needed. We'd like to determine if it's something Laserfiche is doing wrong on our side of the integration or something Microsoft does not support on their web version.
