Workflow Generate Web Client URLs Returns Error "Invalid URI: The hostname could not be parsed."

asked on April 18

Using the "Generate Laserfiche Web Client URLs" activity in Workflow.

It's is generating the URLs, and they are working well.

But I've noticed that the workflows are listing an error message that states "Invalid URI: The hostname could not be parsed."

It's not a huge issue, since the URLs it is generating are accurate and working.  But I don't understand why Workflow is listing the error message.

Here's what I have configured:

Hi Matthew,

The "Laserfiche App Host" option is used to generate view url for Laserfiche Mobile.

If you want to generate url only for Web Access, select the "Same as Laserfiche Web Server" option. Then will not have this warning.

If you want to generate url for LF Mobile, need to specify "Custom Laserfiche App Host" as LF Mobile server's host instead of the Web Access one, which is format as "lfmobile://..." instead of "http://..."

Oh, haha - that makes sense.

For some reason, I had been thinking that option didn't work from my testing, so I hadn't been using it as I began to implement the functionality.  The URLs were functional, and the workflows were not terminating, so I was not really catching that it was displaying an error message until later.

I just tested again, and it seemed to work fine with that setting change.  So it must have been some other issue in my initial testing that led me to mistakenly believing that wasn't working.

Sometimes we get really far down the wrong road and don't realize we made a wrong turn early on.  Thanks for helping me get back on the right road!
