Question

Move A Destroyed Folder

asked on March 12

We are trying to move all the folders Destroyed through the retention process and we kept the metadata, and move them all in to a folder by themselves. This way they aren't showing in the repository folder with all the folders with active documents in them. When trying to move the folders the following message is received; "A request to move, delete, or modify a record was blocked because the record is cutoff, in retention, has undergone final disposition, or the parent folder is closed."

Are we not allowed to move these folders once destroyed then?

Hi Sam,

Thanks! As the saying goes, "long time listener, first time caller."

I have the Records Management Privilege and am getting that error, so sounds like it cannot be moved then.

Thanks for the response!

Hi Sabrina,

First, welcome to Laserfiche Answers =)

To your question, a user with the Records Management Privilege may be able move the record stub that has undergone final disposition. Has a user with that privilege tried moving them? If they have, and can't, there likely isn't a way.

For certain operations, if security blocks an action solely because of record state, Laserfiche will still let a user with Records Management privileges do it. But I'm not sure it would apply to something already beyond final disposition.

Hope that helps.

Cheers,
Sam
