Question

Quick Fields

asked on March 7

I have no idea how to ask my question, so here it goes...

I created a session in Quick Fields for a user.  This user selects a folder in Laserfiche and then clicks the 'Scan' button.  This is when they need the session to run.  The fields do not auto-populate with the data from the document.  My session is correct, and I have tested it.  The user does not have Quick Fields installed on their computer.  The Laserfiche manager before me does have other sessions set up in Quick Fields Agent Manager, so I copied those rules and added the session and created a schedule in Agent Manager.  The session is still not working for the user.  I have no idea how to proceed.

If anybody has any ideas, then please let me know.

Quick Fields needs to be installed on each machine where you want to run a session. If the user is in the Windows or web client and clicks Scan, then they would be launching Laserfiche Scanning, not Quick Fields.

Thank you for the response.  The user is clicking the 'Scan' button in the Windows client, so that tells me it's Laserfiche Scanning.  The Laserfiche manager before me has built sessions in Quick Fields and has them linked to the folder where the user is scanning.  I am going to run another test today to see if the Agent Manager works after the scan has been sitting for some time.

I'm confused about why you would want a user running sessions that the agent is running on a schedule. If these are scheduled sessions, then the user should not need to do anything at all.

Thank you for the response.  It sounds like I need to test again, and this time give the session some time to do its job.  I was under the impression that the fields would populate immediately upon scanning, but that sounds like Quick Fields.  Another user replied and said if the user is clicking the Scan button in the Windows client, then it's Laserfiche Scanning and not Quick Fields.
