I am looking to add the thumbnail pane to my tool bar.

You are using Laserfiche Scanning in basic mode. The Thumbnail pane is only available when Laserfiche Scanning is in standard mode. Close it and re-launch it and choose "standard" instead of "basic" when prompted. If you don't get a prompt for the scan mode, the you likely clicked "do not show again" in the past. You can bring that prompt back from the Options dialog in the Laserfiche Windows client.
