Question

Access denied. [9013]

asked on February 24

Does anyone have experience solving this error?  The user is trying to open a document after making edits to the metadata.  The user is able to open the document before making metadata edits with no issues, but after the edits are made the user receives the error below.  The user has all view, add and modify permissions.  I have hidden sensitive information using lowercase x's.

Error Code: 9013
Error Message: Failed to initialize document.

Does the document move to a different folder in the repository after these edits to metadata are made? I've run into that before, where a user saves their changes after editing metadata, which causes a workflow to move the document to a folder that the user in question does not have access to. I know you said the user has full permissions to the document already, but if it happens to move somewhere else where the user does not have full permissions, they might get this error.

Kind of a shot in the dark.

Yes!  The document does move to a new folder.  I am new to Laserfiche, so I will have to go into Workflow and see where the document goes.  Jacob, this was a great help.  Thank you!

If that ends up being the reason for the error, what I normally is train users to close out of the document viewer rather than hit the Save button. They'll be prompted to save their changes at that point, and they can check the box for "don't ask me again" if they want to. That way, their changes get saved, and they close the document at the same time, and they don't encounter the error anymore.
