Question

Scanning - did it used to remember the default field values a user would set?

asked on February 18 Show version history

Hello,

I had a user ask me today if the desktop scanning app could remember the default values that they set. For example, they have a template with a couple list fields, and most of the time, this particular user defaults those two list fields to a specific value. They have to do this every time they open the scanning window, but for some reason I thought that the desktop scanning application used to remember those default values. I'm assuming I'm just misremembering, but wanted to check here just in case.

Thanks!

No, it did not. Setting values in the default document properties will be applied to all documents scanned from that point on until the end of the scanning session (aka, the Laserfiche Scanning window being closed).

Default values for fields set in the template properties will be loaded, if any exist. These would apply to all users across the web and windows clients and would not be editable by individual users.

Out of curiosity, are you using Laserfiche accounts, SAML accounts, or something else? And do you use LFDS and web client or cloud and what version?
