Prepopulating Fields in a Collection using the URL

I have seen the example of using the URL to prepopulate a field like a checkbox, or a single line field, but is there a way to do the same thing but with a single line field inside a Collection?

Prepopulating fields in a collection using the URL is not directly supported.

A possible workaround is to populate field outside collection then set formula on the fields inside collection to update the value.
