Using Gmail plus addressing with Import Agent Email Archive

Hello,

I am wondering if we can use Gmail plus addressing with an Import Agent Email Archive Profile. Has anyone tried this ? 

 

Your regular email address: janedoe@gmail.com

Your Gmail Plus address: janedoe+hdrewards@gmail.com

That ability is available with various email providers. I have not personally tried it, but I I don't believe it will work. When you connect Email Archive to an email account, you are entering the account name and password to authenticate. Using a plus address would not be the account name, so it would not be able to authenticate you to the email provider.

This is correct. The + addresses are just alias that route emails to the same main address, so they would not work like separate accounts for authentication (i.e., even if they work for authenticating, it is still the same account).

If you're able to set something up in the Google account to automatically route emails to subfolders based on the incoming address, then you could set the Post-processing to use the specific subfolder for a particular alias.
