Laserfiche 12 - Forms - Test Rules bug with user task assignments and task reminders?

The Test Rules are working great for testing a process and we setup the Process Test Rules to send all emails and user task assignments to the initiator. However, we also have reminders on those tasks that send out emails to other entities after X amount of time.

Those reminder emails are actually getting sent when starting a Forms process in test mode. I would have assumed that all emails, including reminders, would be sent to the initiator, like we have set in our test rules.

Is this a bug?

Hi Patrick, if reminder email recipient is sent to custom recipient, it is expected to follow test rules for email, not task assignment.

Can you show a screenshot of how you configured your test rules?

The configuration was correct. Maybe there was something wrong at runtime.

Can you please find the test instance on monitoring page, right click on it and select "View test rules", and see what is the rule being used at instance runtime?

Can you reproduce the issue if you run a new test instance?

Also for the last screenshot you posted, did the "process specified user task recipient" address match the one shown on the "To" address in this email?

I can reproduce it yes, it's consistent on every new instance started as a test.

Yes, the email in the footer of that email matches the To address in the email. It should have went to the initiator instead.

I was able to reproduce the issue and I have filed bug #574490 for it. The issue was that test rule scope "All emails" could not be applied to task reminder custom recipient.

We will fix it in next release, sorry for the inconvenience.

As a workaround for now, you may add another rule to "Replace all email addresses to initiator and set the scope as "For these types - all user tasks" like this:

Hi, this issue has been fixed on Forms 12 Spring 2025 Release: The test rule to replace "All email addresses" works for the task reminder custom recipient when the scope is for "All emails". (BugID: 574490)
