We have a forms workflow that opens a form with an iframe to the entry related to the instance. If a user goes into the repository and edits a different entry's metadata or annotations and saves, goes back to the forms edits and saves, and goes back to the entry in the repo they will find that the entrys changes never saved and the website is just spinning requiring them to close the tab without saving and causing the file to get stuck as locked.

It as also been noted to happen in reverse, but only seems to be happening when the users have a form open and need to edit a separate entry in the repo.

Has anyone experienced this or has some guidance on where i should be looking or troubleshooting?

Can you clarify that it is or isn't the same entry they are modifying in the form iframe and within the repository?

I tested this on Cloud and LF12 and it notifies me whenever I've modified the entry in either place to reload to see new changes for both annotations and metadata.

It may be also worth making sure you the repository notifications are working properly. I can't find a link right now, but you can see if there are any long running requests in the network pane of the browser developer tools or errors in the console.

My understanding is that it is a different entry from the entry open in iframe. Everytime we test the steps from the user it works fine for us, so we are trying to determine what we are missing when the users get the error.

I will check on the notification settings as well. thank you

Hmm that is odd and definitely shouldn't happen that way. If you are able to reproduce it consistently please report back here or create a support ticket!
