Windows client - documents somehow getting deleted when opened or closed

Hello,

Weird one here. I have a customer who states that one user in particular, who has been using Laserfiche for a long time and only recently started having this problem, is experiencing issues where documents are getting deleted somehow when opening or closing the document viewer. Doesn't happen every time, but it's a problem.

This is an old Avante customer who doesn't have Audit Trail, but I don't know that Audit Trail would help anyway - we know documents are getting deleted and we know which user is "causing" it. I reset the prompts for this user, so they should get prompted about deleting a document, and can click "no" for now. My first thought goes to the keyboard and/or mouse and a sticky delete key or something. Would LFSO tracing help? User notices that they get the delete prompt, and I can package up the trace logs at that time and open a support case?

Never run into this particular issue before so not sure how to proceed or if anyone else has ever seen it. Thanks!

Probably best to take this to Tech Support

  • What version of Laserfiche is used?
  • Is the user prompted to delete the document just for closing the document viewer? Even if they do nothing but open and close a document?
  • What is different for the docs where it happens? (path, permissions, etc)
  • Does it happen if the user logs in from another machine?
