Certification Description: 
This curriculum will help you prepare for the Certified Capture Assessment. It includes individual product courses bundled into relevant topics/series that can be taken at your own pace. By taking this training you will master the art of scanning and image processing as you learn to use captured content with forms, documents, and data in Laserfiche.

Laserfiche Capture Methods

  • Identify the different methods and tools available to bring content into Laserfiche, and incorporate the most applicable Laserfiche Capture solutions to your work environment
  • Distinguish between Import Agent and Email Archive, generate profiles for them, and incorporate them into your work processes
  • Describe what Capture Profiles are and how they work, explain how Capture Profile Groups can be used for similar document types, and combine this capture method with other Laserfiche products to create complex solutions
  • Compare the different ways to import documents to the repository and select the appropriate one for your task
  • Explain what Smart Invoice Capture is, describe its benefits, identify how workflows and business processes can work in conjunction with it, and apply this knowledge to make your company more efficient

 

Laserfiche Scanning

  • Explain how you can use Web Scanning to quickly capture documents, describe the usage and layout of Basic Scanning, summarize how to set up the scan source, configure OCR and image enhancements, and choose the relevant properties when applying metadata and storing documents in the repository
  • Deduce when it is appropriate to use Standard Scanning and describe its interface, determine the appropriate settings for your batch of documents, and implement the relevant image enhancements, processes, and default properties when processing documents
  • Choose the ideal order for the image enhancements available in Standard Scanning, adapt its different panes, experiment with its settings to facilitate each scanning session, and program the desired keyboard shortcuts for commonly used tasks

 

Getting Started with Quick Fields

  • Demonstrate how Quick Fields automates document processing to enhance organizational efficiency, including understanding key terminology like batch, template, and OCR, and navigating its interface for effective scanning and processing
  • Create a Quick Fields Session using the wizard
  • Configure field view options for metadata, define necessary constraints for data validation, and apply Zoom Fields for manual review or data entry
  • Clean up scanned images, sort pages and identify document types, extract text from and annotate scanned pages, and determine names and storage paths for documents

 

Planning and Designing in Quick Fields

  • Assess image quality and decide on different strategies for organizing a session into document classes, analyze sample documents to determine the best method for identification and capture, and identify additional considerations when deciding on OCR processing and different capture methods
  • Configure OCR for our session as well as processes necessary for identification, test identification and implement strategies for robust identification in a multi-document class session, use pattern matching to extract information, and configure a lookup to provide additional metadata
  • View key information about published sessions and document classes, explore document class linking, and configure privileges and access rights
  • Prepare sessions for unattended processing, configure Quick Fields Agent to run a session on a schedule, view the history of previously-run sessions, set up email notifications for scheduled sessions, and discuss considerations for running sessions in parallel
