Connector Running Causes Edge in IE Mode To Not Allow Input

asked on October 22, 2024 Show version history

We are currently working with Edge in IE mode related to a web page we use on a daily basis.  We utilize the connector on these pages exclusively.  Recently, we have had an issue pop up where while the connector is running, you cannot type inside of Edge.  The only way we regain the ability to type is by closing the connector.  It is only happening on a small number of machines, but there is no clear link between the machines and the connector issue other than being Windows 11 machines.  We have multiple other Windows 11 machines that do not have this issue.

We have tried clearing both the Edge cache and the IE cache.  The connector is currently running in admin mode.

Does anyone have any ideas on this?

Edit:  Additional information added.

I don't have a solution - but some possible troubleshooting ideas.  It sounds like something a software update could have caused.

Have you checked the version # for Edge between the machines without the issue and the ones with it?

How about the version # for Connector?

Is IE mode a built-in part of Edge or a plug-in - if a plug-in, have you checked its version #?

Edge Version: 130.0.2849.46
All machines affected are this version as we manage installations.

Laserfiche Connector Version: 11.0.0.226
All machines affected are this version, as well.

The IE Mode is a built-in part of Edge.

Does the same version of Edge and Connector work on Windows 10?

Yes, they do.  My personal machine is still windows 10 for another reason and has the same app versions.
