Feature Request: Restart Suspended/Failed Workflows

posted on October 18, 2024

We had a situation recently where the WF server ran out of disk space, in an environment with a lot of complex and inter-related workflow rules and processes.

It caused a large volume of rules to just stop in their tracks.  The ask is for a way to manually restart a failed rule from the beginning.  We know we can do this using the entry ID one by one, but that gets old pretty quick.

I am thinking of a right click, rerun in the Search list, for one or multiple rules.

I suspect this is technically challenging. Then again, so is recreating starting conditions for a few hundred items, especially when the starting conditions are themselves complex.

In a way, either option would be useful, but in this situation, starting from the beginning with all parameters intact would be best.  Having this capability might also impact design, allowing people to go from a small number of really large workflows to a more granular and more manageable approach.

Thanks for clarification. Feature 550654 Restart Suspended/Failed Workflows has been created in backlog.

Hi Bill,

What you want is to be able to rerun the failed workflow instance at their failed step after some issues have been fixed, right?
