Briefcase Import error 9265 needs more specification

asked on October 14, 2024

This is an error we get from the replicate activities entry in workflow. If we try again it works.

There was an error decompressing the briefcase. The briefcase file may be corrupt, the disk may be out of space, or another I/O error occurred. [9265] [ReplicateEntries_Import]

It says your disk could be out of space, it is not. I found on answers that you can not import over 1GB but it is a document less than 1GB in size.

My best guess is that there is a limit on how many briefcases you can import at once, similar to how there is a limit on how many scripts you can run at once because there is a limited amount of memory space to write to.

How many briefcases were you importing at the same time?

The space issue mentioned in the message would be in the repository's temp folder and it could be temporary as the Laserfiche Server uncompresses the briefcase. The files would be cleared out after LFS throws that error, so you might need ongoing monitoring to see it. If you have multiple workflows hitting Replicate Entry at the same time, that may require a lot of space on the repository drive.

It was about 10 per second, but each being individual files. They are trying to do a scheduled import as a batch to see if the problem is with how many imports you can have going at once.

There is a limit on how many long running operations a user can have, but that would generate a different error. This is definitely about accessing the disk. If it's not running out of space, it might be overloading from the read/write operations with that many briefcases imports going at the same time.
